Triund Trek is one of the most popular and easiest Himalayan trek in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. Triund is the crown jewel of Dharamshala and ideal destination for those seeking a hassle-free taste of trekking in the Himalayas with breathtaking views of the Kangra valley and the snow-covered Dhauladhar ranges. The trail to Triund is short but steep. The steep climb is well-compensated by refreshing walks amongst rhododendron and oak trees. There are also various songbirds in the forests along the trail which make it a birdwatcher’s delight. Triund is accessible in the seasons except month of January and February due to heavy snowfall.

1 Day Trek

After the early breakfast the car pickup you from your hotel and drop at the trekking start point Galu Temple. From the Galu Temple the walk through the mixed forest of oak, rhododendron and deodar trees. This is the most popular day hike. The trail is well marked all the way up to Triund. From Mcleodganj it is 4 hours steep ascent to Triund. Small tea shops on the way can provide good refreshments. Triund is an alpine meadow situates atop a flat ridge with fine views of peaks of Dhauladhars Snow Mountains on one side and Kangra valley on the other side. After noon follow the same route way back to Mcleodganj Dharamshala.
